the creative collective: uniting in ritual & song: September 2015
lazing in the shade of the black walnut tree… dancing in the shadow of the blood moon sky… smudging, shmoozing, shlepping, snuggling, sharing, caring, cooking, cleaning, clearing, healing, harmonizing & harvesting…
welcome back tribe-sters to running springs ranch—
land of the free!
PixelWhipping Under The Blood Moon Sky: Kate “fire” dances with her new LED PixelWhips under the soon to be total eclipse of a full moon.
Peacock Rising: By the light of the full moon…
that was by night, this was by day…
Smudgin’ Y’all: Ilya, our timeless medicinal healer/poet/guitarist smudges guest Alokananda who by chance and out of the blue flew in (on a private jet, for real!) overflowing with incredible, abundanct knowledge of Blood Moon symbology and the technical blips of Mercury Rising… Praising The Altar: Another guest, Samantha, put forth beautiful intention to honor the gateway of our cabina with a magnificent altar of sage, conch shell, antlers and mother of pearl… Teepee Tea Time: Two whistling kettles on our outdoor burners for all day, outdoor tea time!
shlepping ‘n grinding in the heat of the day:
Shlepping for the Crapper: This here folks is a true testament to the spirit of our tribe… on my way down to Dragonfly Pond I bump into Michael S, Ilya and Gregory shlepping up heavy pieces of corrugated metal to use as our new outdoor crapper’s walls! On Top of The Crapper, On Top of the World: Gregory, aka Papa G, just moments before deciding that a roofless outdoor crapper, where you can sit and stare at the starlit sky, is wayyyy better than being boxed in like in a porter potty! “That was easy!” — Gregory.
chill-axing ‘n wining in the late afternoon:
High ‘Tea’ with Pink Rose Vino: Kim and Kate toast to another ease-full afternoon of child minding. Who needs parents, who needs aunties when you can run wild and naked and free? Outdoor Acupuncture Clinic: “Just the way it was meant to be,” Says Melani needling Bertram in the elbow on a bed of dry grass.
color ‘n cool shade with the kiddos:
Talking ’bout The Birds and the Bees: Lazing under the shade of the Black Walnut Tree… which according to Richard Bach, genius mastermind behind Bach flower remedies, Walnut “Gives constancy and protection from outside influences”. Isn’t that what we’re all here for? 🙂 “Walnut is useful at all the transition points in life, from birth to teething to going to school to puberty to marriage to childbearing to retirement and beyond. It helps break links with the past so that we can move forward more easily.”—Bach Kool Kreativity Kicks Off in Tha Kidzone: Thanks to Papa G for setting up the little tables outside with all them stickers and glitters and gooeys and gummies for the kiddies (Skyla, 5, Puma, 3, Violet, 6) to get serious with. Kid’s Eye View: This is a photo taken by Lev, age 3 on his own and shows prospective seekers what view they will see if they lie down inside the dome and look up at the sky! 🙂
…and the sweetest of moments…
Snuggly Wuggly Sistah Besties: Violet, 6 and Skyla, 5 fall asleep arm in arm… it just doesn’t get any sweeter than this! Stacey and Shani were both there to capture this sweetest of moments… Puma Looking Sideways: This photo was taken by Lev, age 3 and this caption was ‘written’ by him too. I Will Knot… : Forget weaving, sewing, knitting… David, dubbed Hemingway, just because he reminds me of him… is practicing the age old skill of knot tying with bright pink scarlet yarn and a Cuban cigar. Note on his baseball cap it says, “I Love It Here” … just in case you couldn’t tell. 😉
huh? behind the scenes:
Breakfast-Brunch Bonanza: Team Shane, Shani, Ilya, Alia.. I’ll repeat, Shane, Shani, Ilya, Alia… quit a mouthful… cook up a quiet storm to the silent tune of silent disco. We look like rock stars after an all night gig crammed into our teeny trailer kitchen you guys!
what the…? in the scene:
A Neon Orange Zesty Alien has Landed: …oh wait! It’s not a a neon orange alien after all! It’s Crack Daddy’s Coffee Shack!!!… oh wait… who’s under there really? Michael S did you shed your feathers and leathers for a glittery Lycra orange zesty all-in-one scary suit? Is that you?
and the weekend just wouldn’t be the same without these favorite soundbites:
“The more we feed The Land, the more it will feed us.”—Gregory

“I’m a ‘gotographer'”—Lev, age 3

“I came here to kill dinosaurs at Puma’s request. A capture and release program.”—Michael C explaining to the group the reason why he joined Running Springs Ranch
“Gregory has a magical force field around him… water balloons don’t pop on Gregory!”—Michael S explaining to the kids why their water balloon bombing bombed on Papa G

“Mama, I took a picture of the trees ‘cos the trees are important.”—Lev, age 3
that’s all folks. till next time—creating, collecting, uniting, ritualizing, singing…
